Covington & Danville Plank Road

Covington and Danville PR – The work on the Plank Road progresses finely. The hill and bottom between Covington and the river are nearly graded; considerable work has also been done in the bottom on the other side of Wabash.
Same page – More than two miles of plank road are completed, commencing five miles east of Covington and running this way. The work on the division of the Covington, Coal Creek and Jacksonville Plank Road is being prosecuted vigorously. Something near a half-mile is planked. The heaviest part of the grading of the hill and hollow adjoining town on this road let to JH McCormack has been completed in good style.
