About 8 o’clock last Thursday evening the large barn belonging to Cash Colwell was discovered in flames and was totally destroyed as was also the stable belonging to Mr. Jacob Tice. Fire must have been burning for some time before it was discovered as it burst through the roof with an explosion of fire tongues that light up the town with their red glare. Loss to Mr. Colwell will be about $1000. It was undoubtedly the work of an incendiary. - kbz
