Oatmeal-Chocolate Chip Cookies

"Oatmeal-Chocolate Chip Cookies"

This recipes is an OLD family recipe -- I got it from Jim's grandmother, Alice (Thompson) Kritz who was one of the BEST cooks I ever met. Jim LOVED these when he was a kid and she made 'em and he STILL loves them at (almost 70) made by me!!

Cream: 1 C. Butter (or Crisco)
1 C. Brown Sugar
1 C. White Sugar

Add: 2 Beaten Eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla

Add (gradually): 2 C. Flour
1 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. soda

Add (gradually): 1 C. Oatmeal
6-oz. Pkg. Chocolate Chips (you can substitute Raisins, also very good)
1/2 C. Chopped Nuts

Drop on greased cookie sheets. Bake 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Do not over bake!

It's nice this recipe makes 6 dozen and believe me, you'll wish you'd doubled it!
