MEASURE Cake

Measure Cake – One cup of butter, two of sugar, three eggs, one half a teaspoonful of soda in a cup of milk, one teaspoonful of cream tartar and five cups of flour.  Stir the butter and sugar to a cream add the eggs, the whites and yolks beaten separately, then the soda and milk and lastly the cream of tartar and flour. Flavor as you please.  Bake in small tins or in a loaf – Country Gentleman
