Sis-in-law Linda Kay’s yummy Salad
1 Can Thank You Cherry or Strawberry Pie Filling
1 Can Eagle Brand Milk
Carton Cool Whip
Can crushed Pineapple, drained
½ bag small marshmallows (if desired)
Stir all together and chill until needed.
ORANGE PINEAPPLE SALAD
Kenny Vance was one of the best cooks – EVER. He ran a restaurant in Waveland for 12-15 years and a catering business about the same. Here is one of his delicious salad recipes from the SW Rescue Service of New Market & Waveland.
1 16-oz can crushed pineapple – drained well
1 can mandarin oranges (drained and cut-up)
1 pint cottage cheese
2 boxes orange Jello
Large Carton Cool Whip
Mix pineapple and orange pieces well; add cottage cheese; stir in dry Jello; add Cool Whip and stir well. Pour into salad bowl and refrigerate. Sets fast and delicious with any meal. (Oh, and you can use different kinds of jello – I’ve always wanted to try peaches vs. oranges and peach jello – I’ll let ya’ know if it comes out)
