Gooey Mixed Nut Bars

"Gooey Mixed Nut Bars"

This is one of my newest recipes -- I tasted it somewhere and asked for the recipe but can't remember where/when, etc. Anyway, it is good -- caramelly -- so, of course, it is!!! It reminds you of a payday bar. Oh, I actually think I got this from the Blackburn twins' mom.

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.

In a medium mixing bowl, combine:
1 1/2 C. All-purpose Flour
3/4 C. packed Brown Sugar
1/2 tsp. salt

Cut into the above with a Pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.: 1/2 C. Butter

Press mixture evenly into ungreased 11 x 7" baking pan to form a base.

Bake 15-18 minutes until edges are light brown.

In a 2-qt. saucepan, combine:
1 T. Butter
1 C. Butterscotch Chips
1/2 C. Light Corn Syrup

Cook over medium heat until chips are melted, stirring constantly. Remove. Stir in: 1 Can Salted Mixed Nuts (chopped coursely). Spread mixture evenly over base. Bake 10-15 minutes more until edges are bubbly.
