Naomi Mitchell’s Fluffy Frosting

2 egg whites
½ c. light corn syrup
¼ t. salt
¾ c. white sugar
2 T. water
¼ t. cream of tartar
Cook in double boiler over rapidly boiling water beating with an electric mixer until mixture stands in stiff peaks. Remove and add 1 t. vanilla and continue to beat until thick enough to spread.
