Chocolate Sheath Cake

"Chocolate Sheath Cake"

I never did figure out if this was Sheath or Sheet (that makes more sense since you bake it in a long, sheet pan; however, when the recipe was given to me, this was its name) but anyway, it's a GOOD cake. I got this recipe at my wedding shower in 1968 from Rita Kelsey, a friend. Karen Zach
2 C. Sugar 2 C. Flour -- set aside

1 stick margarine 4 Tsp. Cocoa 1/2 C. Crisco 1 C. Water

Bring to boil and pour over flour mixture. Stir Well.

Add: 1/2 C. Buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 tsp. cinnamon

Mix well and pour in greased 16 x 11 flat pan. Bake 20 minutes at 400 degrees.

Icing -- 5 minutes before cake is done -- in saucepan melt 1 stick butter 4 T. Cocoa and 6 T. Milk. Add 1 box powdered sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1 C. chopped nuts. Stir together until smooth. Pour on hot cake. SCRUMPTIOUS!!!!!
