Koons Cemetery

Koons cemetery located on the land originally deeded to Devault Koons by President James Monroe in 1822.

It is located in Section 13, Township 12 North, Range 1 East. It is off of Ramsgate Drive just past a row of mailboxes on the right. Many of the tomstones are in a poor state having been knocked over and covered by debris. A few stones have been broken, too.

The land was passed to male heirs up to it's sale in 1964/1965 to the Foxcliffe Community. The cemetery, however, was not deeded in this sale. Many of the Koons family heirs are buried in this small cemetery.

If you have any additional names or photos to add, please send them to the county coordinator.
