CHARLES E. PRIEBE

Thanks to his daughter, Deb for the above pic (from Ladoga Facebook page)

Charles E. Priebe was a well-loved teacher, born near Waveland October 29, 1923 to Sam and Myrtle Whitecotton Priebe, joining into a family that would eventually total seven children. Although Charlie was born and graduated from Waveland HS, he spent most of his years in Ladoga with his wife, raising their four children.

He served in the US Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater.

On the 9th of August in 1947, he married Bonnie Weaver in Crawfordsville. They were active members of the Freedom Baptist Church near where Charlie was born. They would enjoy their 50th wedding anniversary before he passed away a few years later.

He retired after 40 years of teaching, mainly in the Montgomery County but a bit in Parke as well. Highlights of his career were Principal at Ladoga and teacher/principal at Southmont High School. He also did some coaching.
