MURRELL, Oscar H.

OSCAR H. MURRELL    

Oscar passed away, a WWII casualty on Dec 2, 1943 (born Dec 10, 1914) at Bari, Italy. He was KIA when German planes bombarded his ship anchored in the Bari harbor. He was an inspector of heavy bombers and had spent 17 months fighting, having entered the Army Air Corps on September 2, 1941. . Thanks to Bill Boone, we have some great pictures here. Oscar in dress uniform; on a pier; with father Granville and mother Sally along with him putting up a tent; and his tombstone in Ladoga Cemetery (Memorial stone). He is listed on the tablet of the missing in the Florence American Cemetery, Florence (Citta Metropolitana di Firenze) Toscana, Italy.   - Oscar H.
