Fred R. Esra - letter Mr. and Mrs. Frank L. Esra, 308 North Street were in receipt, a day or two ago of a letter written Dec 4 by their son, Technical Corporal Fred R Esra, who had just returned to the states after 32 months of overseas service. Tech. Cpl. Esra wrote from Seattle, Wash. He reports at at Camp Bowie, Texas later this week. He expects to be home for the Christmas holidays. His overseas service was spent first with the engineering outfit on the Alcan Highway and later in the Aleutians. His wife, Mrs. Marcia Esra, is employed as a clerk in the office of the Real S : Hosier company in Indianapolis. Co-incident with the receipt of the letter that their other son, Lt. Harold H. Esra, has just arrived in England. Lt. Esra is with the 339th American Field Artillery. He has been stationed for the past 3 years in this country, much of the time at Ft. Sill, where he attended officers' training school. His wife, the former Miss Elizabeth Fruits and their 3-year-old son, reside at Yountsville. Both Cpl. Esra and Lt. Esra were with the Crawfordsville Battery of Field Artillery in National Guard called into federal service before Pearl Harbor. -- kbz
