Lt. Robert W. Cox, son of Mrs. Georgia P. Cox is in the US Naval hospital in Philadelphia where he was taken last week after an airplane in which he was flying from Groton, Conn to Harrisburg on a Navy mission, crashed in the Hawks mountain sin PA. Commander JH Locky, who was piloting the plane was killed in the crash which occurred in a heavy rain storm. In a letter to his mother, Lt. Cox stated that for sometime before the crash visibility was zero. When he regained consciousness three hours after the crash he found himself lodged in the smouldering fuselage. After freeing himself he wandered down the mountain in the driving rain to a farm house where help was obtained. He was able to lead the party back to the scene of the crash but collapsed on arriving there and was taken to a hospital in Reading.
