BREEDLOVE, Lawrence Edmond
LAWRENCE EDMOND BREEDLOVE 
Lawrence Edmond Breedlove, "Hap" as I always knew him was born on the 13th day of April in 1921, Crawfordsville, Montgomery County, Indiana bright and early in the morning at 2 a.m., and passed away the 20th of September 2006 (at 2:55 a.m.) in Crawfordsville. He is shown here in his WWII uniform with his oldest child of four, Delores Jane. He married my first cousin, once removed, a happy, sweet, fantastic cook, Dorothy Frances Morgan. They would have a son, Dale and two other daughters, Lois and Connie. Born the 5th of 5 children, there would eventually become an even larger family of siblings for Hap.
Hap was the son of Ray and Lydia Lucas Breedlove and spent his life as a trucker (self-employed doing general work). Although Hap always seemed quiet at the family reunions, I always liked him as he had this kind of faint happiness about him, and I loved Dorothy. Ray was born in Boone County and was a galvanizer, while his mother was born in Terre Haute, Vigo County.
Leaving Dorothy and their first two children, Hap enlisted on the 27th day of May in 1944, and was known at the time of his joining, as a very skilled driver of buses, trucks, tractors and any vehicles. He left from Ft. Benjamin Harrison. For having just a 10th grade graduate, Hap would become a Cpl in the US Army. Always thought that was quite impressive.
Hap was quite active in the VFW and American Legion and is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery (South), Crawfordsville with his beloved Dorothy. I just added his obituary on that site.
At this time, I do not know Hap's unit or any battles he may have been in or even a unit, but assume he had something to do with driving or fixing trucks. Any of his relatives, know, let me know, please :) - kbz
