LYLE BRANSTETTER - bombadier

Lt. Lyle Branstetter, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Branstetter of New Ross, who is with the 8th Air Force in England, recently completed his 18th mission in the European theatre of operations. He is a bombardier on a Flying Fortress. Lt. Branstetter has been in the service since March 10, 1943 and was sent overseas in October 1944. In a letter to his parents, which was written Christmas Eve, Lyle told of being forced to land at a British field, other than his own base, because of weather conditions. He said the experience made him appreciate all the more the services afford US fliers at American field in Britain.
