Covington Friend Newspaper

J. Gus Lane, who has been editor of the Covington Republican, with his wife and trunks left that place Friday night for parts unknown. Lane has been trying to make the Republican a paper out of the class of its patronage. He has been backed by Jno. F. Judy, the well known Warren county financial man, who no doubt knows how to deal with everything else but run up against the real thing when he bought a print shop. The paper was gotten out as usual Friday and as Mr. Judy had not arrived in Covington when we went to press, it was impossible to find out what he intends to do with the plant. Lane is a good writer, a clever fellow, but it takes more than that to run a newspaper.
