Attica – Approval has been received by the Central National Bank and Trust Co of Attica from the comptroller of the currency, Washington DC for the purchase of the Newtown State Bank. Permission to open a branch of the Central National Bank and Trust Co, known as the Newtown Branch, also was granted, effective Tuesday. This completes negotiations between the two institutions which had been in progress three months.
