Emmert Family Reunion
The Emmert's who hold their annual family reunion at
Lower Mt. Zion Church at the last meeting traced their
ancestry to Peter Emmert who came to Indiana before it was
admitted as a state. The Mt. Zion church was organized in
his home about 100 rods east of the present church. Peter
Emmert was born in 1770. His body now rests in Mt. Zion
cemetery. He has one grandchild living: Isaac Emmert of
Lebanon who is about 85 years old. Robert Ferguson
has the wedding coat and trousers which belonged to Peter
Emmert. Robert Ferguson's grandmother was a sister to Mr.
Emmert. The Emmert's will hold the reunion at Lebanon next
