Isaac Powell
ISAAC POWELL
Was born in Nicholas County, Kentucky, in 1780. He was
married to Sarah Boyd in the above county, remained there
until the year 1835, when he came to Boone County, Indiana.
His parents were from England, and came to Kentucky in an
early day, where they were pioneers, indeed. Isaac Powell
died in the year 1843, and was buried on the farm where he
settled, now known as the Watson farm. Sarah Powell, his
wife died in 1858, and was buried at the same place. The
following are the names of the family: Ann, Mary, Martin,
Charles, Sarah, Marena, Elizabeth, Martha, William C.,
Eliza, and Jeremiah. Five of the above are now living in
Boone County, viz: Martin, Marena Stephenson, Sarah McCann,
Elizabeth, and William C. Powell. This is one of the early
families of the county, as well as the largest. William C.,
who is one of the best citizens of Clinton Township,
furnished the above facts of his father’s family; is a
resident of Clinton Township, where he owns a fine farm.
