LOGAN, WILLIAM: He married Catherine Harmon Moore in 1867 in Tippecanoe Co., Ind. Catherine was the d/o Henry Harmon. They had the following hildren: Maggie, John, Frank, and Anna. This shows in the census, and the address was 21st. Street. Catherine died in 1902 and is buried in the Greenbush Cemetary. I am looking for this Logan family or any of it's members. The reason being that Catherine was m. first to Elijah Moore on Dec. 15, 1855 in Tippecanoe Co. and had 4 sons. Arthur Wilson youngest son of George Wilson,Sr. and his wife Mary ? Arthur b. abt. 1775, prob. MD. m. Sarah Doolittle, prob. Pa. They located in Monongalia Co. WV., but in his fathers' will it is stated he was in Tippecanoe, In. I know that he had at least 2 children, indications that there are more Nancy Ann Wilson and Jesse Wilson, were two children. Records say he died aft. 1850 in this county. This would have been aft. his children were raised There was a migration of Wilson, Doolittle, and Stitt's to Ohio. the Stitt's ended up in Hamilton Co. Ind. The son of Arthur went to Ohio, but eventually migrated to Jackson co. Oregon, Medford.

I am looking for any information on the Hill families in the Tippecanoe county and Boone county Indiana area in the early 1800's. The family moved to the Tippecanoe county area between the birth of two of their sons. Owen Hill was born in 1822 in Ohio, and John H. Hill was born in Indiana in 1828. I believe their father was named John Hill. Owen Hill ( my GGGrandfather) and his wife Deborah had the following children: Mary Ellen Hill 1853; Walker Hill 1859; John Calvin Hill 1861 my GGrandfather born at Battleground IN ; Blanche Hill 1865; Harvey Hill 1868; Grace Armanda Hill 1869. Would like to correspond with descendants of J. Warren Fahnestock and Hattie Belle (Bayless) Fahnestock. Hattie Belle was born in 1853 in Ohio and died 23APR1923 in Lafayette. She married J. Warren Fahnestock on 14MAY1878. They raised the two children by his first marriage: Lily B. (1867-1915) and Alexander (1870) as well as having two children of their own: a daughter, M. Carolina (1874) who married Welber A. Cochel on 01OCT1908, and a son, Harry W. Fahnestock (1879). Also looking for any information on Hattie's brothers and sisters: Nathan, Maude, Bruce or John W. as well as her parents, John Bayless and Margaret (McKee) Bayless).

I'm looking information on the Roebuck Family of Tippecanoe County. Samuel Roebuck migrated to Wabash Township, Tippecanoe County, Indiana prior to 1860. He married Mary Jane Wolf on 12/14/1857. Samuel was a carpenter. He died at Lafayette, Wabash Township, 1876. His widow continued to live at the home place and was enumerated with her children in 1880. She was alive for the 1900 census. Samues and Mary Jane had three children. The 2nd born was Alvah C. Roebuck (Co-Founder of Sears Roebuck & Co.) b. 1/9/1864 on his fathers farm near Lafayette, Tippecanoe County , Indiana.

O'DOYLE, had two children, Lizzie M. and John William "Edward." Edward was born ~1885 in West Point, IN. John and Rosie divorced, then he married Frances --??-- a school teacher. John and Frances BLANTON appear in 1900/1910/1920 IN census for Tippecanoe Co., Wayne. Need obituary information for John [70] or Frances [65] BLANTON who died sometime after 1920 census. Names of their children are: Emma Lucas born 1856 (m. Joseph HUBER). Samuel Lucas born ?(m. Minnie OAEBRIEN). Henry Lucas born ?. William Lucas born 1861(m. May BLY). Our Great-Grandmother Susan Lucas was born July 6, 1859 in Tippicanoe Co. IN (m.George BLY in 1881 in Howard Co,IA.) We believe that all the children were born in Indiana. In 1865 the family moved to Muscatine IA, then to Howard Co, IA, and then back to Muscatine Co, IA. Where Abraham died Oct.1915. We would like any information on this family's Ancestors and Descendants.

We are trying to find any descendants of Samuel McCormick b. 1 Feb 1802, d. 4 Mar 1853. Samuel was the son of James McCormick Sr. who is alleged to have been a Revolutionary War veteran. James Sr. came to Ohio (Greene co) and died there in 1825. When the estate was settled in 1828 (another mystery--why did it take so long?) his son Samuel paid $5 for the family Bible. Samuel then moved to Tippecanoe Co., and are told that he died there. He was married to Isabella (Bartels) 1810-1879. We know nothing about James Sr's parents, and presume that this Bible might give some clues.

Seeking information on Andrew Jackson CUNNINGHAM believed to have been born in Indiana c.1835.Lived at least a good part of his life in Tippecanoe county. Married Sarah IRWIN 13 Oct. 1857. Two children born to this marriage: James A. Cunningham & Josephine Francis CUNNINGHAM. Josephine married John Parker BROOKS 23 Jan 1883. Andrew married a second time Sarah E. Clark 9 Oct 1870. There were 3 children by this union: Joseph CUNNINGHAM (my grandfather), Byron W. CUNNINGHAM (known as Bid) and Pearl CUNNINGHAM who married Fairfax KIRKPATRICK. Andrew died 10 Dec 1915 and is buried in the cemetery in WEA twp. WILLIAM SHAW married MARTHA STAFFORD on Oct 20,1833 in Tippaconoe County. MARTHA STAFFORD was born to THOMAS and ELIZABETH STAFFORD who were from North Carolina on January 1, 1814. WILLIAM AND MARTHA SHAW had 10 children. The first three died of a fever in 1839 and should be buried in Tippacanoe Co. They moved to Mahaska County, Iowa in about 1843. I am looking for any information about the Shaws or Staffords in Tippacanoe that could be connected to WILLIAM AND MARTHA SHAW. Also I would like to know how to find a list ofthe cemeterys in Tippacanoe to locate the 3 children who died.

Phebe's parents were Matthias Parson and Mercy Shaw who moved to Tippicanoe Co. at the same time and I believe died there. The Wright children were Thomas Jefferson marr. My GGG Grandmother was Elizabeth 'Betsey' (CALLAWAY) SIMMONS. She was (apparently) widowed in Cabell Co.,(W)V in 1821. She and her family moved to Decatur Co., IN in 1821. She was married to a/an widower, George CHRIST, in 1826. They moved to Tippecanoe Co. I have found persons whom I believe to be children of George CHRIST and one of his first two wives, living in Tippecanoe Co.in the 1850 Census. He and Betsey had three daughters. I am interested in finding where and when Elizabeth died. Thank you.

I am looking for my grandmother Clara May Sims siblings and parents. There were 7 children. Some of them are Hershel (Herschel), Edward and a sister Louise who may have married a deJarnett. My grandmother was born in 1880 in Effingham, IL the family moved to Terre Haute in 1882-3 and the mother was murdered while pregnant with 8th child. The children were put in an orphanage. The children all stayed in the area except my grandmother was taken to San Francisco. Please check surrounding towns and counties. BUTLER in Tippecanoe Co., In. Huldah was a daughter of Joseph and Mary FREEL WILSON. Joseph WILSON died 11 March 1845. CURRY
I'm trying to determine whether the Daniel CURRY mentioned in _Index to the First Tract Book, Tippecanoe, County_ is related to Providence M. CURRY and Thomas M. CURRY of Crawfordsville. The Index indicates that Daniel CURRY purchased land in Sec 27 of T23NR4W in 1828. The county recorder does not have these deeds and the historical society does not believe these deeds exist. Can anyone suggest how I can locate the deeds mentioned in the index?

MOORE, HARMON
Desperately looking for info on Elijah Moore m. C(K)atherine Harmon in Tippecanoe Co., on Dec 15, 1855. They had 4 sons Sylvestor ( odd name), Curtis ( went to Iowa), Dave (lived in Indpls for a while), and William (my g.grandfather). Elijah was born in Ohio about 1826-27, and was 1/2 Indian, and could have been adopted and given the Moore name then. C(K)atherine remarried in 1867 and had more children. I have been unable to find Elijah aftethe 1860 census. What happened to him, did he join the war and die somewhere else? Please Please help me if you can. I can go no farther till I find him. Am researching the Morris Scanlon family. Have received lots of info from Tipcoa but am now in need of a death date (possibly 1857)for Morris. Wife, Nancy Connor Scanlon. Henry Quigley, born in Lancaster County, PA, 1804, came to Tippecanoe County in about 1832, lived there until about 1890, and died at the home of his daughter in Madison County, IN. Henry married Elizabeth Nabb in Carlisle PA; she was born in Baltimore MD 1809, and died in Lafayette, IN 1887. Both are buried in Greenbush Cemertery in Lafayette. Also buried there is their son Capt Henry Quigley, who died in the Battle of the Wilderness, Civil War. Children of Henry and Elizabeth: Matilda Quigley, 1832-1919, married John Brokaw Williams; Mary Ann Quigley, 1834-1836; Elizabeth Quigley, 1836-?; Henry Orville Quigley, 1838-1864; James Quigley, 1839-1846; William F. Quigley, 1843-1919, married Carrie Newman, m. 2nd Mary K. Dutcher; Thomas Moor Quigley, 1846-1913, married Margaret Elizabeth Newitt; Would like to contact anyone researching this family.

I would like to add the surname of BEHRENS, Rudolph R. Behrens, he lived at 1530 Virginia Street Layfayette. Born 1842. His son Rudolph Behrens, who had quite a family, married Daisy "Dale" Witz, . Mary b 1893 Lafayette Emmett"Rudy" b.June 1895(family rumor was he was with the Dillinger gang) along with his brother Bill, Charlie. My grandfather John Behrens was born in Monticello. Another family name was Nicholas WILLEMS who was married at one time to Rudolph Behrens, divorced him, and remarried him after WILLEMS children married. They all lived in and around Layfayette, in fact my Great Aunt, who I am in touch with, went to St. Bonafice Convent when she was small. My mother is Mohawk Indian and was born on the Tippocanoe river reservation. The only way she could get her social security was a old family Bible. Her maiden name was Minnix. Her mother was fun blood Mohawk with the last name Georgie Lovelace and her father was Minnix. There has been almost no way to trace the Mohawk's in Indiana. Any help appreciated.

Looking for any information about the Shaw family that orginated in Ohio. My great great Grandfather was a William Shaw born April 20, 1807. He married (I'm sure in Tip.Co) a Martha Stafford who was born in Tippecanoe Co. on January 1, 1814. Her parents were Tom and Elizabeth Stafford who orginated in Perequmans Co. NC. Any information about either family would be most helpful. I would like to know who William's parents were. In the Iowa 1860 census William and Martha are listed and it says William was born in Ohio. In some of the other family history that I have says he is born in Lafayette, Indiana. I was told he was an only child, but I believe they did not know for sure. His parents must be buried in Tippacanoe County. William and Martha had three children who died of a fever I think in 1829. They are surely buried in Tippecanoe County. Their names were Elizabeth, Martha Ann, and Thomas. Also a daughter Abigail may have already been married or stayed in Indiana.

Joseph was married twice to two Mary's, and I'm not sure which was my Great-Great Grandmother.
