Union Citizens of Warren Township assembled in Convention at Putnamville June 1, 1867 for purpose of appointing delegates to the County Nominating Convention to be held in Greencastle on the 8th. After organizing, the following gentlemen were appoint as said delegates: Dr. DW Layman; SE Parks, Esq. Hanna; Denny William; John McCarty and Joel McGrew. It was then resolved the vote of the Township be case in the County Convention for AJ Hawk, Clerk; Capt. HB Martin for Auditor and Col. Morrison for Recorder. It was resolved a committee of six be appointed to meet at Greencastle on Saturday to make arrangements for the celebration of the 4th of July and the committee was appointed: IG Cowgill; Dr. Layman; Geo. Denny; J. O’Neal; D. Talbott and Capt. McGrew. The Secretary was instructed to furnish the Greencastle Banner with a copy of the proceedings, whereupon the Convention adjourned. Esq.
