SPJ – Society of Professional Journalist an organization with 17,500 members will relocate headquarters in August in Greencastle, Indiana home of DePauw University where SPJ was founded as Sigma Delta Chi in 1909. Individuals works closely with the executive director while performing the following duties: handles fact-finding and trouble-shooting projects plus other special projects as assigned, coordinates incoming and outgoing correspondence, composes and/or types individual letters, opens and organizes exec director’s mail, distributes materials and memos from exec director to other staff, produces and distributes packets to the national board of directors and other individuals; and organizes, maintains and updates SPJ’s files. Executive assistant must be bright, well-organized, detail-oriented, demonstrate initiative and project competence diplomacy and professionalism in dealing with others. Good typing skills and word processing experience required. Outstanding writing skills and experience in desktop publish8ing a plus. Ideal candidate will have previous experience as an executive assistant.

Assistant for Special Projects. – responsible for coordination of all printing, special projects and mass mailings, communication with printers, mailhouses .. self starter – good communication.
Accounting Assistant – perform routine work on simple accounting procedures, keep accounts payable/receivable; prepare cash disbursements; reconcile ledgers – requires one year experience in handling automated accounts – 12 hours of accounting training.
