MORRISON - Dr HH - birthday - Putnam

Last evening being the anniversary of the 70th birthday of Dr. HH Morrison a party of his relatives and neighbors gave him a pleasant surprise.  Mrs. Morrison had decoyed him early in the evening over to a neighbor’s house and when the guests had assembled he was sent for. His surprise was great on seeing the assembled gathering but when he reached Mr. Henry Walker and wife, of Charleston, Ill in his hand shaking he stopped and said, “Well, this is a surprise, my old friend, Mr. Walker.”  His exclamation was appreciated by a round of sincere laughter. After congratulation and music refreshments were served and it was agreed by all to be one of the pleasantest evenings of their lives and no doubt one of the pleasantest of Dr. Morrison’s 70 birthday anniversaries. - kbz
