Greencastle, Ind – The dwelling of Flem McCrary near Brick Chapel burned tonight with nearly all its contents. The wife of Ellsbury O’Hair in running to the fire fell upon the ice and broke her leg.

Somerset news – Sunday night the large two-story residence of Flem McCray was entirely destroyed by fire. Mr. McCray and his son who keeps house for him were away from home. John Cox, a neighbor, discovered the fire as he was passing the house and gave the alarm. A crowd soon collected but they only succeeded in saving a small portion of the household goods. Loss partially covered by insurance. Considerable excitement at church was caused by the alarm of fire. - kbz
