Hyten, Forest - manslaughter charge - Putnam

Indianapolis, July 11 – Forest Hyten, formerly of Ladoga will face manslaughter charges here July 31 as the result of the death of Michael Schmidt.  Hyten, police said, ran over Schmidt while the latter stood in a safety zone on a local street July 1.  Hyten was slated on charges of driving while intoxicated, drunkenness and failure to stop after an accident. The charge of manslaughter was added after Schmidt died July 4. – kbz
