Greencastle Fire Dept

Several changes have taken place at the local fire department within the last few days. Roymand (Raymond?) “Pete” Duncan began his work as a city fireman this morning, filling the vacancy left at the fire department by the resignation of Virgil Grimes. The two new horses are now in the harness at the fire department. The new team was recently purchased by the city council. The dunn team will be sold. “Charley,” the veteran fire horse that has worked to the ladder wagon for many years and “George,” the horse that has been sick for several weeks, will work to the hose wagon. The other new horse, “Billy” and the big black horse will pull the ladder wagon to the scenes of the fires in the city.
