GORHAM, Doug - fire destroys home - Putnam

On Tuesday night the residence owned by Dug (sic) Gorham in Fillmore was entirely destroyed by fire, the inmates getting out just soon enough to escape being burned. The flames spread from the Gorham property to that of Mr. SP James nearby and his residence was entirely wiped out and only a portion of his household effects were saved. The origin of the fire is unknown.  Mr. James’ loss is about $2500 and is partially insured. The other loss is about $800 but we failed to learn of any insurance thereon.
