Gilmore - John - lost mare - Putnam

A Young Mare left the farm of John Gilmore on the 22d inst and has gone astray; she was supposed to be in Greencastle on Thursday the 23d inst. She is a dark red bay, supposed to be 3 years old, a nice smooth animal – not very large.  Was broke to the saddle but had not been worked much if any. A liberal reward will be given for any information which will lead to her whereabouts or recovery.  Intelligence may be left at the Banner office or with the undersigned – Pleasant Smith (note: This was originally in the paper 25 Oct 1862 so doesn’t seem much hope for the mare to return – sad.
