GILLISPEY James - offers land for Female College - Putnam

James Gillispey has offered 10 acres of ground to the Female College as a site for the new building, the location to be made either in the grove west of the New Albany Railroad or in the orchard west of old cemetery as the committee may select.  In consequence the sale of the grounds heretofore occupied has been ordered.  Mr. Gillispey also offers to donate the stone to be used for the foundation of the new building.  We presume that Mr. Gillispey by his timely liberality has definitely settled the question of the location of the Institution in favor of Greencastle and for this deserved the thanks of all our citizens.
