Cliff DAVIS - Putnam

Roachdale, June 9 – Cliff Davis will succeed Herbert Jeffries as coach of the Roachdale High School basketball team, it has been announced here.  Jeffries will go to Wingate to coach the Spartan five.  Davis.coached last year at Burlington but for the previous four years he had charge of athletics at Waynetown in Montgomery County and turned out basketball teams that ranked on a par with the best in western Indiana.  The new local mentor is a graduate of Wabash College class of 1925.    --- transcribed by  kbz
