Bainbridge news - The Brown reunion was held in the school yard Sunday Aug 31st. About 75 were present. The number not being so large as it was the past year. A bountiful dinner was spread at the noon hour and heartily partaken of after which a program was given of music composing about instrumental and vocal solos, vocal duets and several popular pieces played by Miss Bernice Brown with her two brothers, Lynn and Claire with saxophone and violin. Misses Eloree Foster of Lizton and Mary D. Overpeck of Waveland joining their voices to the instruments. One old song The Church in the Wildwood led by Mrs. Amos Thomson and played by Mrs. Opal Chambers of Indianapolis was sung by the crowd. Little three year old Mary Frances Chambers of Indianapolis sang two songs, Love Lifted Me and Carry me back to old Virginia as sweet as a bird. Then 7-year-old Lois Gardner of Waveland played two piano solos which showed remarkable talent to say the least. In fact, they must be Browns! Rev. Ray Banks of Bedford gave a short address which was both comical and serious in the real comraderie way of his and which everyone was glad to hear. Clay Banks of Iowa was the guests who was farthest from home. The date set for another year to be held the second Sunday in July.
Clay Banks of Unionville, Iowa came Saturday to visit his niece, Mrs. Amos Thomson and to attend the Brown reunion Sunday.
