Source: Waveland Independent Waveland, Montgomery County, Indiana Thursday, Jan 9, 1941
John Will BRIDGES was shot through the stomach while trying to grapple with a hold up man in the Old Vienna Café in Indianapolis where he was working as bartender on Wednesday. He is thought to have a chance for recovery. His wife, Mrs. Florence Bridges is a patient in the Rockville Sanitarium and the two little daughters are here with their grandfather, Samuel Scott at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Moore. John Will has been singularly unfortunate in the way of accidents starting with having one eye put out by a pool ball. -- typed by kbz
