Born to Lt. and Mrs. Lynn H. Barbour, a daughter, Madonna, Sept 7th, 10:30 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. The mother is the former Margaret Wilson daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wilson of Roachdale. Lt. Barbour, AAF son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Barbour, 612 New York St, Lafayette. He has been reported missing in action over Germany since May 19th, 1944. - kbz

Mr. and Mrs. George Coombs who reside in Greencastle Township are the parents of a son born Saturday night. At first Mr. and Mrs. Coombs thought to name the boy James Cox, but later decided to name the boy James Russell.

Z. Grider of Franklin township is the happy father of twins – a boy and a girl. They do say that the event has added several inches to Mr. Grider’s height.

Announcement of the birth of a daughter, Mary Louise on February 4 to Dr. and Mrs. Herbert Landes of Chicago have been received here. Mr. Landes is a former Greencastle boy and is well known here. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Landes, former Greencastle residents but now residing in California. – kbz

Word has been received here that Mr. and Mrs. Earl J.M. McCullough are the proud parents of a son, born Sept 7th at the Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. The baby weight 8 # 10 oz and has been named Kenneth Earl. The mother was the former Miss Madonna Rogers of Putnamville and was formerly employed at the First Citizens Bank & Trust Co of Greencastle and the father a farmer of Washington Township and a teacher in the Putnam County schools until his induction into the service in 1942. He is stationed at the USNATTC, Memphis Tennessee. The grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Rogers of Putnamville and Mr. and Mrs. Ertis McCullough of Reelsville. - kbz
