“An infected village” The public schools in the little village of Wingate situated across the border in Montgomery County have been closed and the social and business relations between the families of the populace is almost suspended. The cause of all this is the presence of that dreaded disease, diphtheria in the village. Two cases have already proved fatal and several more cases of a serious nature are ___. The two victims were two small children, members of the same family and were at school when the first symptoms were detected. Fears are entertained that the disease will scatter in spite of all that can be done to proven it. ---kbz
