New Market Item – On Tuesday evening of last week the residence of Mr. Joseph Watkins, some three miles southeast of this place was consumed by fire. The most of the valuables in the house were got out and saved. Notwithstanding the loss sustained was great as the building was a good one with no insurance on it. The family was illy prepared to meet with such a misfortune, it being the lot of the inmates some time since to be left orphaned in this world. We hope the sympathy and generosity of the friends and neighbors will be moved toward this family that they may not be allowed to suffer the entire loss.
