TAKEN UP … on the 16th December 1833, by Stephen Blackford of Cain Township, Fountain County, Indiana, an Estray Bay Filley, two years old last Spring; about 13 ½ hands high, one white spot on the heel of the left hind foot, no other marks or brands perceivable. Appraised to 20 dollars by Samuel Mehoten and David Liggett. A true copy from my estray book, this 30th day of December, 1833. Absalom Mendenhall, JP .. TAKEN UP – by Banjamin Meckey of Union Township, Montgomery County, Indiana living one mile and a half from Crawfordsville on the Terre Haute Road, one estray bay mare colt, two years old last spring, about 14 and a ½ hands high had on a leather halter, appraised to $15 by John Wilson and Jerrey Brookshere. TAKEN UP _ by Moses Gillam, living in Coal Creek Township, Montgomery county, Indiana, on the 25th day of November, 1854, two Estray Steers one is a dun, marked with a crop, an under bit in the left ear and an under bit in the right ear, and a blemish on the left pastern behind, 4 years old past. The other is red with some white about each horn, some white on the belly, with a swallow fork and an under bit in the right ear: appraised to $40.50 by Michael Spencer and John P. Killin, before Samuel McComas, Justice of the Peace, on the 16th day of December, 1854. Attest: A.P. Lynn, clerk

Lunger, living in Coal Creek Township, Montgomery county, Indiana, one Estray Steer, supposed to be two years old last spring, a red brindle, marked with a split in the right ear and an under bit in the left ear, some white on the belly, legs and tail appraised to $15.00 by Thompson Park and Oscar Park, before Samuel McComas, Justice of the Peace, on the 12th day of December, 1854. Taken Up -- By Jacob Drollinger, living in Sugarcreek Township, Montgomery County, Indiana, on the 18th of January 1836 two cows; one a red with white back and belly, a crop, a slit and an underbit in the left ear and a hole in the right ear, supposed to be 8 or 9 years old; the other a white cow with a red streak on each side of the neck, the fore legs red, and red on the ears, a crop off the left ear, has on a bell with a leather collar which is spliced, fastened with a buckle and string; supposed to be 4 or 5 years old; appraised to $20 by Isaac Miller and William Holloway. Pierce in Madison Township, Montgomery County, Indiana; on the 1st day of Dec 1854 two stray steers towit: one red three years old steer marked with a crop off the left ear and a slit in the same and a half crop off the right; appraised to $18.00 by Joel Stoddard and Joseph Alexander, Jr – also one red yearling steer with some white, marked with a crop off the right and a dewlapped; no other marks perceivable; appraised to $9.00 by Joel Stoddard & Joseph Alexander, Jr. before James Wilson, Justice of the Peace. TAKEN UP … by Robert Warren living about one and a half miles SE from Crawfordsville, Montgomery Co Indiana - 3 estray Oxen the one a pale red steer, white on his tail and white on his belly and white on the top of his rump, is marked with a crop and underbit in the left and under half crop in the right ear and has on a Bell with a leather collar and common buckle - appraised to $16.25. The other a Black Steer marked the same as the red one - appraised to $15. The other a dark brindle steer with broad horns and marked with a swallow fork in each ear, has on a bell with a leather collar and common buckle - with the bell appraised to $16.25. These steers appear to be about 7 or 8 years old and appear to be work oxen. D. Johnson and James Anderson appraisers … PM Currey, JP Crawfordsville Jan 21, 1834 - #51
