New Ross, Oct. 10—This town was stirred to its depths Tuesday morning on learning that Jacob L. Reynolds had attempted suicide by taking chloroform. He had purchased the drug several days previous to the attempt at destruction. He was discovered in an unconscious condition by Jewell Turner who instantly gave the alarm. Drs. Bronaugh and Bowers were hastily summoned and worked about half a day before recovery was assured. The cause of the attempt at self destruction is not known, as he had seemed in excellent spirits before the almost fatal night.
