Mushrooms - 3 of 4 die
Source: New Richmond Record 10 Sept 1914 p 2
Three of four men who ate toadstools for mushrooms Saturday evening in Lafayette are dead from the poison. Michael May is the only one of the quartette who has so far survived the feat though he was not considered out of danger by his physician. The three who died from the poison were Jacob May (18 Sept 1876 – 7 Sept 1914), William Ogden (7 Oct 1877 – 7 Sept 1914) and George Baudy (April 1863 – 9 Sept 1914).
