Source: Crawfordsville Review 11 July 1916 p 1
Moses Hatter, aged 80 years is missing from the home of his son, John Hatter, 912 W. Wabash Avenue since Sunday morning and his absence is causing the family much worry. The aged gentleman and his wife have been making their home with the son. On a recent visit of a daughter from Detroit, it was arranged that the aged mother should make a return visit with the daughter. Since the departure of his wife, the elder Mr. Hatter has bene ill at ease and seemingly worried over the absence of his wife. It is thought he attempted to go to Detroit, although he gave no intimation to the family he was leaving. He left home sometime Sunday morning and has not been seen since. He took no money with him, and the family are fearful he will meet with some accident. The local police have made diligent search for the aged man and the telephone has been used to nearby towns in an effort to locate him. John Hatter recently suffered a paralytic stroke and the present incident adds to his troubles. It is hoped that the father may be found in some nearby home where he will find some one who will communicate with the family.
