Good Templars - Montgomery InGenWeb Project

The district convention of Good Templars, which has been in session at Crawfordsville adjourned Thursday night. The following officers were elected: George White of Smartsburg, WCT; Mrs. Sarah Stotter, Frankfort, WVT; Rev. ER Johnson of Cville, WC; Mr. White of Monon, sec; Mrs. Dr. Griffith of C’v supt of Juvenile Templars. The next convention will be held at Frankfort commencing on the 2nd Mon in Feb and continuing three days.

Note: Good Templars was a part of the temperance movement promoting abstinence for alcohol or other drugs and unlike other temperance organization is the GT admitted men and women equally and no race distinction.
