Source: Crawfordsville Star 1 Feb 1877
They have a sensation near the junction and it is a veritable ghost. Some months since a Mrs. O’Rielly (sic) iving in that neighborhood died quite suddenly; and her friends had almost forgotten that she had ever existed till one day last week when she made her appearance in a materialized form, commanding her husband to pay up his debts or risk the consequences. A young girl by the name of O’Connelly at the house where O’Reilly (sic) boards was the first to witness a ghostly exploit which was nothing else than having a barrel walk toward her whilst a sepulchral voices spoke aloud. The girl fell in a deadly swoon from which she was restored with extreme difficulty. These facts are all vouched for by sensible persons who do not know whether too believe or not. Of course no shrewd creditor is playing it on them; that could not be so. --- kbz
