Garr - Thomas - leaves family
Source: Crawfordsville Daily Journal Thursday, 25 February 1892
No further information has been received regarding the missing Thomas Garr, who disappeared several days ago with $2,500, except that his clothes are likewise missing. The neighbors believe that far from being murdered, he has left in search of pastures new. His three children are still with their grandfather, Enoch Smith. Mr. Smith is one of the wealthiest citizens in the county, but he wants to place the children in the Orphan’s Home or Poor Farm on account of the poor health of Mrs. Smith.
