CRAWFORDSVILLE Beauties-1887 - Montgomery InGenWeb Project

A lady of this city was on the train going over to Indianapolis a few days since, and says that on the train was a bevy of Crawfordsville beauties, also a few young men. The girls, as usual with Crawfordsville girls, were masticating wax. They would invite the young men to a seat beside them and when the beau was just ready to drop his corporeal body into the seat the mischievous girl would quietly slip a wad of gum to a spot where it would do the most good. It was lots of fun for the girls, but The Journal ventures the opinion that the ten commandments were badly disorganized by the young men when they took an inventory of their wearing apparel the next day.   ---dkd
