Crawfordsville, Jan 4 – The Montgomery County Corn Growers’ Association held its annual banquet at Black’s Café in connection with its 18th county corn show which has been in progress since Wednesday of this week, slosing Sat at noon, VL Manuel presided at the banquet. Floyd Crumm of Walnut Township, received a silver loving cup given annually by E. Rauh and Son Fertilizer Company of Indianapolis, to the winner of the five-acres corn growing contest. Don Irwin, a member of the association gave an address on The Advantage of 25 Higher Yield. About 25 members were present, including Walter Harpel of Walnut Twp who carried off individual honors of the show by winning all first places except the single ear class which was won by Kenneth Dice of the same township who took first place with his world’s reserve champion ear of yellow corn.
