Barney & Buck horses hurt in fire

The city has purchased a new team for the fire department. Barney, who was so badly burned recently will never be fit for use on the streets again but will make a very good farm horse and will be sold for that purpose. Buck, the other horse will be placed on pasture for awhile till his feet, which are not in the best of condition, get well again when he will be used as a supply horse for the department. The new team was purchased near Champaign, Ill for about $325.  They are fine strawberry roans, 16 hands high and weighing about 1300 pounds apiece.  They were selected by Driver Griffin and Sam Robinson.  Mr. Robinson will arrive with them probably tonight or tomorrow!
