Souders, Dick - Trespass
Source: Crawfordsville Review 26 Sept 1913 p 1
Dick Souders, arrested Saturday afternoon at the Harrison home on Jennison Street on a charge of trespass, called Justice of the Peace EM Brewer from jail Thursday afternoon and declared that he wanted to plead guilty to the charge against him. The Justice informed Richard that he was at perfect liberty to make such a plea and also told him what the fine would be. He told Souders that he would send an officer to the jail immediately to bring him into court. But the man of many wives did not want to come into court. He desired to plead guilty over the telephone. No court for him. Thinking that Souders might change his mind, Brewer called the police and an officer went to the jail to see the prisoner. Souders held firm and refused to leave his cell. His case is set for October 3. --– kbz
