Attica, March 23 – Gerald Peak, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Peak of east of Attica, and Leo Welch of near Five Points were seriously injured Sunday when the motorcycle on which they were riding left the road on the curve east of the Frans Carlon home on Rd 28 and hit the barbed wire fence at the side of the highway.  Peak received two severe cuts on the neck, one just missing the jugluar vein and also a scalp wound; he also received a deep cut between the ring finger and little finger on the right hand. Welch received minor cuts about the face and head and a severe back injury.  A passing motorist picked up the two boys and brought them to the office of a local doctor. Welch was taken to his home in Warren County and Peak was removed to the home of his parents east of Attica.  Peak resides in Crawfordsville and is employed at the Ben Hur dairy, but he and his wife were spending Sunday here with relatives.  – kbz
