Fern Patton and Gould Westfall were arrested Tuesday by Sheriff Ira Luddington at their homes in New Richmond, brought to Crawfordsville and placed in the Montgomery County jail on charges of unlawful possession and sale of intoxicating liquor. Patton is employed in the lumber yard at New Richmond. Several weeks ago a New Richmond negro, Walter Everett was arrested on bootlegging charges and placed in the Crawfordsville jail. He was an employee of Westfall’s and it is said that the cases of the two men arrested Tuesday are linked with that of the negro.
