Source: Crawfordsville Review 21 Dec 1895 p 1

Dr. (IEG) Naylor and wife of Darlington, celebrated their golden wedding on Wednesday at which a large number of guests attended. Dr. Naylor was born in Charleston, Clark County in 1819 , coming there from Kentucky in 1799. In 1832 IEG Naylor was apprenticed to Ebenezer Patrick, a printer at Salem, where he learned the trade.  He went from Salem to Danville, where he attempted to start a paper, and failing, came to Crawfordsville, taking service with IF Wade, the editor of the Crawfordsville Record, then the largest paper in Indiana.  Mr. Wade by the way, is still living in Crawfordsville.  In 1843, Mr. Naylor returned to Clark County and established the Clark County Mirror. Here he began the practice of medicine. Later he sold the Mirror and began the practice of medicine at Camden, removing from there after a short residence to Darlington where he has since resided.  In 1845, while attending a camp meeting, Dr. Naylor met Miss Calista Huffman, a young lady who had just arrived from New York.  It was a case of love at first sight, and in less than three months they were married.  Nine children were born to them, two of whom were killed in battle during the civil war. - kbz
