Earl - John - 97

John Earl, who lives one half mile west of Waynetown, will be 97 years old next September. He was born in New Jersey, immigrated to Ohio, and sixty years ago came to Indiana and settled on the farm where he still lives, originally consisting of 160 acres. His first wife died about forty years ago and his second wife about twenty years ago. He has three children, all married, and all well advanced in life.
The old gentleman is hale and hearty, though his hearing is slightly defective. Otherwise he is in perfect health and his mental faculties are remarkably vigorous. He has been an active member of the Christian Church for the last sixty years and has lived up to his profession as near as it is possible for man to live.
He was originally a Whig and then a Republican and still takes an active interest in all political questions. He bids fair to round out a full century. – thanks so much to “S” for all the great typing for this site
